Regular Season Round 14: Gemlik - Haremspor 90-81

There was a small surprise when fourteenth ranked Gemlik (3-11) defeated 12th ranked Haremspor (5-9) in Bursa 90-81 on Sunday. American guard Jeremy Sheppard (185-1997, college: URI, agency: Mansfield and Associates) notched 18 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the effort and the former international forward Osman Sirin (207-1990, college: Charlotte) supported him with 16 points and 7 rebounds. Gemlik's coach Fatih Gezer used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 31 points and 4 assists by American guard Donte Clark (194-1994, college: Texas Southern) did not help to save the game for Haremspor. Montenegrin center Gligorije Rakocevic (211-1995, college: Oregon St.) added 12 points and 16 rebounds for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Gemlik maintains fourteenth position with 3-11 record. Newly promoted Haremspor keeps the twelfth place with nine games lost. They share the position with OGM Orman. Gemlik will meet league's second-placed Mersin on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Haremspor will play against Kocaeli (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
