Regular Season Round 12: Towers - BBU Salzburg 81-90

Not a big story in a game when 11th ranked Towers (4-8) lost to third ranked BBU (10-2) in Kufstein 81-90 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 8 points at the halftime before their 53-36 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. The winners were led by forward Drew Koka (196-1998) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 30 points and 15 rebounds and the former international guard Lorenzo ONeal (188-1988) supported him with 10 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. BBU's coach Christian Ponz used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 16 points and 14 rebounds by Serbian power forward Luka Kraljic (206-1999) did not help to save the game for Towers. Forward Fabio Thaler (198-1992) added 16 points and 11 rebounds. Five BBU and four Towers players scored in double figures. BBU keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Raiders. Loser Towers dropped to the tenth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Rocks. BBU will meet Lions (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Towers will play against Future Team and hope to secure a win.
