Everything went according to plan when eighth ranked Elazig Karabulut (9-8) beat on the road 10th ranked Manisa (6-11) 83-75 on Sunday. Elazig Karabulut forced 29 Manisa turnovers. The best player for the winners was American guard Ameryst Alston (175-1993, college: Ohio St.) who scored 44 points (!!!), 7 rebounds, 8 assists and 6 steals. Center Gulfer Tokatli (193-2002) chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds. Elazig Karabulut's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American center Tearra Banks (188-1995, college: Austin Peay) produced a double-double by scoring 30 points and 10 rebounds and Deniz Sanli (176-1994) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Elazig Karabulut moved-up to seventh place. Manisa at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the tenth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Antalya and Diba Ankara. Elazig Karabulut will meet at home bottom-ranked Karsiyaka (#16) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Manisa will play against Urla (#14) in Izmir and hope to secure a win.
