Bottom-ranked Gheorgheni is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their tenth consecutive match to second ranked Rm Valcea II (8-1) 109-70. The game without a history. Rm Valcea II led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Gheorgheni's 36. Gheorgheni was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American Ajay Singh (199, college: Westmont, agency: Haylett Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 7 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Lamar Hamrick (193-1998, college: Portland St., agency: Haylett Sports) helped adding 17 points and 7 rebounds. Hamrick is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Rm Valcea II players scored in double figures. Elod Csillag responded with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Matyas Lokody (190-1987) scored 10 points and 9 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Rm Valcea II have a solid series of three victories in a row. Newly promoted Rm Valcea II maintains second place with 8-1 record behind leader Phoenix Corona, which they share with Laguna. Gheorgheni at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with ten games lost. Rm Valcea II will play against Oradea 2 (#6) at home in the next round. Gheorgheni will play against Cluj CSU in Cluj Napoca and hopes to get finally their first victory.
