Regular Season Round 15: Nevezis - Juventus 71-74

Very expected game in Kedainiai where 9th ranked Nevezis (6-9) was edged by third ranked Juventus (11-4) 74-71 on Monday. Juventus made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Nevezis turnovers. It was a great evening for American point guard Alex Hamilton (193-1993, college: Louisiana Tech) who led his team to a victory scoring 14 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. His fellow American import forward Justin Alston (203-1994, college: Boston U.) helped adding 12 points and 5 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Latvian guard Arturs Zagars (190-2000) with 19 points and Danielius Lavrinovicius (205-1999) scored 13 points. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Juventus. They moved-up to second place. Loser Nevezis keeps the ninth position with nine games lost. Juventus will meet at home Wolves (#5) in the next round. Nevezis will play against P.Zvaigzdes (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
