Very important is a home loss of third ranked Zalgiris II (19-6) against tenth ranked Kretinga (10-15) on Thursday night. Host Zalgiris II was defeated by Kretinga in a tough game in Kaunas 71-75. Kretinga made 16-of-21 charity shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Strangely Zalgiris II outrebounded Kretinga 38-19 including a 17-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Guard Martynas Mazeika (193-1985, agency: Interperformances) stepped up and scored 25 points and 4 assists for the winners and center Rytis Zabita (199-1994) chipped in 13 points. At the losing side Liutauras Lelevicius (201-2003) responded with 20 points and 7 rebounds and Gytis Nemeiksa (201-2001) scored 10 points and 7 rebounds. Zalgiris II's coach Vytautas Pliauga rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Kretinga moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Delikatesas. Zalgiris II at the other side keeps the third position with six games lost. Kretinga will play against higher ranked Vytis (#4) in Sakiai in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Zalgiris II will play on the road against the league's second-placed Telsiai having rather not much hope for a victory.
