Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked Uni Baskets (9-8) lost to second ranked Tigers (13-4) in Tuebingen 73-83 on Saturday. Tigers looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Finnish point guard Aatu Kivimaki (185-1997, agency: Blacktop Management) nailed 15 points and 5 assists for the winning side and Latvian Kriss Helmanis (209-2002) accounted for 13 points. Forward Marten Linssen (203-1998, college: St.Louis) came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and American point guard Buzz Anthony (180-1998, college: RMC) added 12 points and 7 assists respectively for Uni Baskets in the defeat. Five Tigers and four Uni Baskets players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players saving starting five for next games. Tigers maintains second place with 13-4 record having just two points less than leader Vechta. Loser Uni Baskets dropped to the seventh position with eight games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Tigers will again meet Uni Baskets (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Uni Baskets will have a break next round.
