Very predictable result when ninth ranked Balikesir (7-8) defeated at home 15th ranked Antalya (2-13) 87-71 on Saturday. Balikesir dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Antalya's 22. They outrebounded Antalya 40-23 including 30 on the defensive glass. Balikesir looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The best player for the winners was Berke Aygunduz (196-1998) who scored 20 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. American guard Kahlil Dukes (183-1995, college: Niagara) chipped in 16 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Balikesir players scored in double figures. Balikesir's coach Ozan Bulkaz used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Dogancan Topcuoglu (-2001) who recorded 17 points and 6 assists and Berkan Aksu (204-2001) added 17 points respectively. Balikesir moved-up to eighth place. Antalya lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Bornova. Balikesir will meet at home OGM Orman (#13) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Antalya will play against Sigortam.net in Balikesir and hope to secure a win.
