We should mention about the upset which took place in Manisa, where higher ranked Galatasaray (7-8) lost to fifteenth ranked Manisa (4-11) in a road game 72-85. Manisa made 16-of-18 charity shots (88.9 percent) during the game. It was a good game for American point guard Ricky Tarrant (188-1993, college: Memphis) who led his team to a victory with 24 points and 6 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Mexican guard Francisco Cruz (191-1989, college: Wyoming) contributed with 18 points and 4 assists for the winners. Italian-American forward Angelo Caloiaro (203-1989, college: USF, agency: Pensack Sports) answered with 24 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and American Tyrus McGee (188-1991, college: Iowa St.) added 15 points in the effort for Galatasaray. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Newly promoted Manisa maintains fifteenth place with 4-11 record. Galatasaray lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with eight games lost. They share it with Merkezefendi. Manisa will play against higher ranked Pinar Karsiyaka (#3) in Izmir in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Galatasaray's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Istanbul Efes.
