Rather predictable result when thirteenth ranked Hakro Merlins (6-8) won against 16th ranked Skyliners (4-11) in Frankfurt 88-72 on Sunday. Hakro Merlins dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Skyliners' 22. It was an exceptional evening for the former international center Bogdan Radosavljevic (213-1993) who led the winners and scored 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. American Jaren Lewis (201-1996, college: ACU) accounted for 16 points for the winning side. Hakro Merlins' coach Sebastian Gleim used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lithuanian Laurynas Beliauskas (193-1997) came up with 21 points and American guard Isaiah Washington (185-1998, college: LBSU, agency: Players Group) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Skyliners in the defeat. The victory was the third consecutive win for Hakro Merlins. They moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Weissenfels. Loser Skyliners keep the sixteenth position with 11 games lost. Hakro Merlins will meet at home higher ranked EnBW Ludwigsburg (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Skyliners will play against Chemnitz (#8) and hope to secure a win.
