Regular Season Round 15: Yalovaspor - Bornova 84-79

There was no surprise when 15th ranked Bornova (2-13) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked Yalovaspor (9-6) 84-79 on Sunday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Yalovaspor made 20-of-23 free shots (87.0 percent) during the game. Americans were the main players on the court. The best player for the winners was Lamont Jones (183-1990, college: Iona) who scored 29 points and 6 assists (went 13 for 13 at the free throw line !!!). Center Jamuni McNeace (208-1996, college: Oklahoma) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Troy Franklin (183-1989, college: Coppin St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 assists and power forward Brandon Huffman (208-1998, college: JSU) added 20 points and 16 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Yalovaspor have a solid series of three victories in a row. Newly promoted Yalovaspor maintains seventh place with 9-6 record. Bornova lost eighth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with 13 games lost. They share it with Antalya. Yalovaspor will meet at home Fenerbahce 2 (#11) in the next round. Bornova will play against Haremspor (#10) in Istanbul and hope to secure a win.
