Very expected game in Rostock where 14th ranked Seawolves (6-9) were defeated by seventh ranked Chemnitz (9-5) 96-81 on Wednesday. Chemnitz dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Seawolves' 28. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Hungarian Marko Filipovity (204-1996) fired 31 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Lithuanian point guard Arnas Velicka (195-1999) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 assists. American Derrick Alston Jr (206-1997, college: Boise St.) produced 20 points and 5 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Jordan Roland (185-1997, college: Northeastern) added 17 points respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Chemnitz have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Goettingen. Seawolves lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the twelfth position with nine games lost. They share it with Weissenfels. Chemnitz will meet Braunschweig (#17) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Seawolves will play against MBC (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
