The game with biggest result difference took place in Botevgrad. Local Balkan (11-3) outscored 5th ranked Beroe (7-8) 105-71. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Beroe. Balkan dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Beroe's 38. They outrebounded Beroe 40-27 including 30 on the defensive glass. Balkan players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. It was a good game for international Dimitar Dimitrov (203-1993) who led his team to a victory with 16 points and 9 rebounds. The former international Pavlin Ivanov (195-1993, agency: Octagon Europe) contributed with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American guard Darius Hall (188, college: Bryant & Str OH) answered with 17 points and 7 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and point guard Mihail Kombakov (185-2003) added 10 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Beroe. Five Balkan and four Beroe players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Balkan. Defending champion maintains second place with 11-3 record having five points less than leader Rilski. Beroe at the other side dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost. Balkan will play against Chernomorets (#7) in Burgas in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Beroe will play at home against the league's leader Rilski and hopes to get back on the winning track.
