Regular Season Round 8: Frankivsk - Blyskavky 92-61

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Ivano-Frankivsk. Top-ranked Frankivsk faced 4th ranked Blyskavky. Host Frankivsk (9-0) smashed guests from Vinnytsia (5-5) 92-61. The game was mostly controlled by Frankivsk. Blyskavky was better in fourth quarter 15-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Blyskavky 36-25 including 23 on the defensive glass. The former international center Taisia Udodenko (190-1989) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Iryna Buhaiova (184-2005) contributed with 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Frankivsk players scored in double figures. Frankivsk's coach felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Violetta Ostapchuk (170-2005) replied with 17 points and 7 rebounds and forward Olena Vitkovska (181-2003) added 13 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Blyskavky. Frankivsk have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 9-0 record. Newly promoted Blyskavky dropped to the third place with five games lost. Frankivsk will play against Rivne-SDYUSHOR (#5) on the road in the next round. Blyskavky will play against Interkhim and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
