Regular Season Round 8: KIVS SBK - Rivne-SDYUSHOR 64-61

The most exciting game of round 8 in the Superleague took place in Lviv. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked Rivne-SDYUSHOR (4-6) to sixth ranked KIVS SBK (2-6) 64-61 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Rivne-SDYUSHOR . The hosts trailed by 11 points at the halftime before their 24-7 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. KIVS SBK dominated on the defensive end, holding Rivne-SDYUSHOR to just 7 points in third quarter. They outrebounded Rivne-SDYUSHOR 54-40 including 18 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was swingman Katerina Shtyk (175-2003) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals. Swingman Elizaveta Vodovoz (174-2003) chipped in 9 points and 9 rebounds. KIVS SBK's coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Forward Maria Ostapchuk (177-2004) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds and forward Anastasiia Klymchuk (180-2000) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Newly promoted KIVS SBK maintains sixth position with 2-6 record. Rivne-SDYUSHOR at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fifth place with six games lost. KIVS SBK are again looking forward to face higher ranked Rivne-SDYUSHOR (#5) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Rivne-SDYUSHOR will play against Interkhim and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
