No shocking result in a game when ninth ranked Edremit (9-9) beat on the road 12th ranked Diba Ankara (6-13) 80-70 on Friday. Edremit looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American center Zakyia Weathersby (188-1998, college: UAB) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 14 rebounds (on 14-of-17 shooting from the field). Yagmur Ozturk (-1998) accounted for 18 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winning side. Edremit's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. DR Congolese center Mireille Muganza (185-1990) came up with 21 points and 8 rebounds and Melisa Eroglu (-2002) added 14 points and 6 assists respectively for Diba Ankara in the defeat. Edremit moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Elazig Karabulut. Diba Ankara lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Manisa. Edremit will meet at home higher ranked Botas GA (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Diba Ankara will play against Elazig Il (#6) and hope to secure a win.
