An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Mersin. First ranked Mersin faced 4th ranked Emlak. Host Mersin (14-2) defeated guests from Istanbul (10-6) 67-59. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Emlak. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Tiffany Hayes (177-1989, college: UConn) who helped to win the game recording 23 points. The former international center Quanitra Hollingsworth (196-1988, college: VCU) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Mersin's coach Emre Vatansever allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Canadian guard Nirra Fields (175-1993, college: UCLA) replied with 18 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Jantel Lavender (191-1988, college: Ohio St.) added 13 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Emlak. Mersin maintains first position with 14-2 record. Newly promoted Emlak keeps the fourth place with six games lost. They share the position with Nesibe. Mersin will play against Bursa (#12) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Emlak's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Istanbul Fenerbahce.
