TKBL top team - Tarsus (17-2) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed fifteenth ranked Yalova Vip (5-14) in Mersin 84-63. Tarsus made 25-of-26 free shots (96.2 percent) during the game, while Yalova Vip only scored six points from the stripe. They outrebounded Yalova Vip 41-24 including a 33-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Tarsus looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Yalova Vip helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Ebru Torun (175-1987) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Melis Lafatan (188-1991) contributed with 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Five Tarsus players scored in double figures. The former international forward Nazli Guler (184-1982) answered with 13 points and American guard Amber Smith (180-1998, college: Missouri) added 11 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Yalova Vip. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tarsus have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 17-2 record. Yalova Vip lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth position with 14 games lost. Tarsus are looking forward to face Kirklareli (#4) on the road in the next round. Yalova Vip will play against Manisa (#12) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
