The game between closely ranked teams ended with eleventh ranked Rist Wedel's (6-8) home victory over 12th ranked Herford (2-13) 86-74 on Sunday. American point guard Harrison Cleary (185-1997, college: UMC) fired a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 10 assists for the winners. Czech Michal Kozak (203-1998, college: Weber St.) chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds. Naturalized American Shawn Gulley (200-1993, college: Temple JC) produced 20 points and 8 rebounds and Lithuanian Dainius Zvinklys (203-1990) added 8 points and 11 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Rist Wedel moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Ehingen. Herford lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth position with 13 games lost. Rist Wedel will meet Kangaroos (#11) in the next round. Herford will play against the league's leader Sixers having rather not much hope for a victory.
