Very predictable result in Izmir where third ranked Besiktas (10-5) edged 9th ranked Petkim Spor (5-10) 87-85 on Thursday. Besiktas forced 21 Petkim Spor turnovers. Strangely Petkim Spor outrebounded Besiktas 50-34 including a 33-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for Ege Borcali (-2005) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals. Berat Tunc (-2004) helped adding 19 points and 7 rebounds. Besiktas' coach Recep Mermerci used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game.
