No shocking result in a game in Traiskirchen where second ranked Gmunden Swans (13-4) smashed 9th ranked Arkadia Lions (8-11) 110-80. The game was mostly controlled by Gmunden Swans. Arkadia Lions was better in third quarter 22-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gmunden Swans shot 63.6 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 56.5 percentage. Gmunden Swans players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. It was a good game for British-French guard Dwayne Lautier-Ogunleye (193-1996, college: Bradley) who led his team to a victory with 27 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international guard Daniel Friedrich (181-1992) contributed with 25 points and 7 assists for the winners. Latvian center Ilja Gromovs (211-1994) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds and American forward Davon Clare (198-1998, college: CS Fullerton) added 14 points in the effort for Arkadia Lions. Five Gmunden Swans and four Arkadia Lions players scored in double figures. Arkadia Lions' coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Gmunden Swans maintains second position with 13-4 record having just two points less than leader Vienna. Arkadia Lions at the other side dropped to the eighth place with 11 games lost. Gmunden Swans will play against Furstenfeld Panthers (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Arkadia Lions will play against Nord Dragonz and hope to get back on the winning track.
