Regular Season Round 16: Rapid - Targu Mures 80-68

Rather predictable result in Bucuresti where fifth ranked Rapid (9-4) defeated 8th ranked Targu Mures (3-11) 80-68. It looked good early as Targu Mures took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Rapid had a 22-12 second period charge getting the lead and Targu Mures were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 68-80. Rapid forced 19 Targu Mures turnovers and outrebounded them 42-27 including a 22-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by American guard Adrienne Motley (175-1995, college: Miami, FL) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import center Rodjanae Wade (188-1998, college: UNLV) supported her with 18 points and 15 rebounds. Even 24 points by American guard Keilanei Cooper (175, college: UC Riverside, agency: DC Sports) did not help to save the game for Targu Mures. Ukrainian swingman Vita Horobets (180-1996, agency: BIG) added 12 points for lost side. Targu Mures' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Rapid have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. Newly promoted Targu Mures keep the eighth position with 11 games lost. Rapid will play against league's leader Sf.Gheorghe in Sfantu Gheorghe in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Targu Mures will play at home against Alexandria (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
