Rather expected game when 12th ranked Flames (4-11) were smashed by tenth ranked Rocks (7-8) in Vienna 87-51 on Saturday. The game without a history. Rocks led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Flames to just 5 points in fourth quarter and to 13 points in second half. Rocks forced 22 Flames turnovers and outrebounded them 46-32 including 31 on the defensive glass. French Joris Ortega (188-1993, agency: Interperformances) notched 31 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and Croatian guard Petar Zivkovic (193) supported him with 23 points and 4 assists. Even 14 points by Slovenian point guard Jernej Heine (191-2000) did not help to save the game for Flames. Slovenian power forward Nikolas Susa (197-1999) added 9 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Rocks have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain tenth position with 7-8 record. Loser Flames dropped to the eleventh place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Towers. Rocks will meet at home league's leader Blackbirds in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Flames will play against Ballers (#14) in Wels and hope to secure a win.
