Regular Season Round 11: Jena - Ludwigsburg 79-84

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 6th ranked Jena (4-7) lost at home to seventh ranked Ludwigsburg BBA (4-6) 84-79 on Saturday. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Luca Stuebel (189-2004) who led the winners and scored 21 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Esli Edigin (194-2005) accounted for 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Four Ludwigsburg BBA players scored in double figures. Point guard Raphael Falkenthal (191-2005) came up with 21 points, 7 assists and 5 steals and Lukas Passarge (204-2004) added 21 points and 9 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) respectively for Jena in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Ludwigsburg BBA moved-up to fifth place. Jena lost their third game in a row. They keep the sixth position with seven games lost. They share it with Tornados and Muenster. Ludwigsburg BBA will meet at home higher ranked Bamberg/Breit. (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Jena will play against Tornados in Nuernberg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
