Regular Season Round 21: Elazig Il - Edremit 72-80

Another exciting game was between seventh ranked Edremit and 4th placed Elazig Il where Edremit (11-9) won against Elazig Il (13-8) on the road 80-72. Edremit players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was a good game for American center Zakyia Weathersby (188-1998, college: UAB) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!), 20 rebounds and 4 blocks. Gizem Kumandanoglu (-1994) contributed with 16 points and 7 assists for the winners. Ilknur Yildizhan (186-1996) answered with 15 points and 7 rebounds and guard Ceren Gokdemir (177-1992) added 8 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Elazig Il. Four Elazig Il players scored in double figures. Elazig Il's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the third consecutive win for Edremit. They maintain seventh place with 11-9 record. Elazig Il at the other side dropped to the fifth position with eight games lost. They share it with Kirklareli. Edremit will play against Elazig Karabulut (#8) at home in the next round. Elazig Il will play against Bogazici and hopes to get back on the winning track.
