An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Mersin. First ranked Tarsus faced second-best Fenerbahce G.. Host Tarsus (19-2) defeated guests from Istanbul (17-4) 74-68. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Fenerbahce G.. Tarsus dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Fenerbahce G.'s 30. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American center Sasha Goodlett (195-1990, college: Georgia Tech) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. Nihal Yildirim (-1990) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. Four Tarsus players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian Mina Djordjevic (188-1999) who recorded 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (perfect from the field making all six shots) and Selin Gul (184-2003) added 12 points and 5 assists respectively. Fenerbahce G.'s coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Tarsus have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain first place with 19-2 record. Fenerbahce G. at the other side keeps the second position with four games lost. Tarsus are looking forward to face Diba Ankara (#12) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Fenerbahce G. will play against Manisa (#11) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
