Everything went according to plan when second ranked Cagdas BS (14-3) defeated 8th ranked Balikesir (8-9) in Mugla 78-66 on Sunday. Cagdas BS made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. American point guard Chris Warren (177-1988, college: Ole Miss) nailed 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and Hakan Yapar (202-1984) accounted for 17 points and 5 rebounds. Cagdas BS's coach Ali Aydanarig allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Berke Aygunduz (196-1998) came up with 18 points and 6 rebounds and American guard Kahlil Dukes (183-1995, college: Niagara) added 14 points respectively for Balikesir in the defeat. Newly promoted Cagdas BS maintains second place with 14-3 record behind leader Mersin. Loser Balikesir keeps the eighth position with nine games lost. They share it with Mamak. Cagdas BS will meet Sigortam.net (#6) in the next round. Balikesir will play against Gemlik and hope to secure a win.
