Regular Season Round 18: Vidabasket - Dunav 86-85

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Dunav (7-2) in Vidin on Sunday night. Visitors were edged by fourth ranked Vidabasket (5-4) 86-85. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Dunav. Vidabasket forced 20 Dunav turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a good game for guard Teodor Kirov (192-1991) who saved his team from a defeat with 30 points, 6 assists and 4 steals. Nikola Emilov contributed with 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Nikolay Nikolov (201-1997) replied with 34 points (!!!), 6 assists and 6 steals and guard Teodor Trifonov (194-2006) added 19 points in the effort for Dunav. Five Vidabasket and four Dunav players scored in double figures. Dunav's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Vidabasket moved-up to third place. Dunav at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. Vidabasket are looking forward to face league's second-placed Chavdar in Troyan in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Dunav will play on the road against Lokomotiv GO in Gorna Oryahovitsa and is hoping to win this game.
