Everything went according to plan when third ranked Darussafaka (11-5) defeated 9th ranked Petkim Spor (5-11) in Istanbul 82-66 on Monday. Darussafaka dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Petkim Spor's 30. Darussafaka forced 20 Petkim Spor turnovers. The winners were led by forward Ege Akcay (198-2006) who scored that evening 17 points and 8 rebounds and Mehmet Teoman (-2005) supported him with 9 points and 10 assists. Four Darussafaka players scored in double figures. Darussafaka's coach Husnu Eser used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 14 points and 16 rebounds by Murat Tor (-2003) did not help to save the game for Petkim Spor. Yigit Kaba (-2006) added 16 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Darussafaka have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 4 other teams. Petkim Spor lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 11 games lost. Darussafaka will meet Selcuklu (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Petkim Spor will play against Merkezefendi and hope to secure a win.
