Regular Season Round 21: Herlev - Vaerlose 62-84

There was a surprise result when ninth ranked Vaerlose (6-13) outscored on the road higher ranked Herlev (11-8) 84-62 on Friday. Vaerlose looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Forward Simon Schwartz (205-2004) stepped up and scored 24 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners and guard Karl Formann (190-1998) chipped in 19 points and 5 rebounds. Four Vaerlose players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Marqus Marion (204-2004) with 13 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Eamonn Joyce (208-1997, college: SNHU, agency: One Motive Sports) scored 13 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Vaerlose moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Copenhagen. Loser Herlev keeps the fifth position with eight games lost. Vaerlose will meet at home bottom-ranked Holbaek (#11) in the next round. Herlev will play against Svendborg (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
