Regular Season Round 20: Furstenfeld - Timberwolves 100-59

Rather expected game when 12th ranked Timberwolves (4-16) were crushed on the road by tenth ranked Furstenfeld Panthers (6-13) 100-59 on Saturday. The game without a history. Furstenfeld Panthers led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Timberwolves' 32. They outrebounded Timberwolves 55-24 including a 22-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American forward Jaylen Butz (206-1999, college: WKU, agency: Players Group) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds. The other American import guard Steve Jr Robinson (165-1996, college: Mt.St.Mary's) chipped in 27 points. Four Furstenfeld Panthers players scored in double figures. The former international guard Jakob Szkutta (188-1999) produced 12 points and American center Chris Vogt (213-1999, college: Wisconsin) added 8 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Timberwolves' coach Hubert Schmidt gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Newly promoted Furstenfeld Panthers maintains tenth position with 6-13 record. Timberwolves lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 16 games lost. Furstenfeld Panthers will meet higher ranked UBC St. Poelten (#5) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Timberwolves' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Vienna to the arena BC Vienna.
