Very important is a home loss of second ranked BBU (11-4) against seventh ranked Alligators (9-6) on Saturday night. Host BBU was defeated by Alligators in a tough game in Salzburg 82-88. BBU trailed by 18 points after 3 quarters before a 28-16 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 82-88 at the end of the game. Alligators made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 24 BBU turnovers. The best player for the winners was Serbian center Marko Kolaric (213-1984, college: Chaminade) who scored 9 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Simon Marek (180-2001) chipped in 22 points. Four Alligators players scored in double figures. Alligators' coach Lukas Hofer used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Adrian Mitchell (189-1995) who recorded 22 points and German guard Robert Becker (196-2002) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Alligators moved-up to sixth place, which they share with KOS. Loser BBU still keeps top position with four games lost. They share it with Blackbirds and Raiders. Alligators will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. BBU will play against Lions in Dornbirn and hope to secure a win.
