The most surprising game was the first loss of White Wings (16-1) in Hanau on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by eighth ranked Loewen (7-10) 87-81. It ended at the same time the 16-game winning streak of White Wings. It was a good game for American Tyseem Lyles (185-1992, college: Mercy) who led his team to a victory with 28 points and 4 steals. Ivorian-French Guy Landry Edi (198-1988, college: Gonzaga) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Four Loewen players scored in double figures. Gabriel Kuku (190-2001) replied with 26 points and American center Bubba Furlong (206-1999, college: NWOSU) added 18 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for White Wings. Loewen maintains eighth position with 7-10 record, which they share with Schwelm. White Wings at the other side still keep top place with one game lost. They share the position with Koblenz. Loewen is looking forward to face higher ranked Deisenhofen (#4) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. White Wings will play against Ehingen/Urspringschule in Allmendingen and are hoping to win this game.
