Very predictable result in Eisenstadt where third ranked Raiffeisen Flyers Wels (14-6) defeated 11th ranked Nord Dragonz (5-15) 107-98 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Nord Dragonz won third quarter 29-24. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Raiffeisen Flyers Wels dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Nord Dragonz's 36 and made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Raiffeisen Flyers Wels looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American-Nigerian guard Austen Awosika (190-1998, college: CS Fullerton, agency: Slash Sports) who scored 27 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. German guard Christian von Fintel (190-1990) chipped in 21 points and 7 rebounds. American guard Fabio Sohnel (193, college: Mineral Area) produced 20 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Kyran McClure (188-1996, college: St.Leo) added 22 points respectively for the hosts. Four Raiffeisen Flyers Wels and five Nord Dragonz players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Raiffeisen Flyers Wels have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 14-6 record having just two points less than leader Vienna. Newly promoted Nord Dragonz keeps the eleventh place with 15 games lost. Raiffeisen Flyers Wels will meet Arkadia Lions (#7) in the next round.
