Regular Season Round 19: Bayreuth - Ulm 64-80
Date: February 5, 2023
Very predictable result when tenth ranked ratiopharm Ulm (9-9) defeated on the road bottom-ranked Bayreuth (3-14) 80-64 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by ratiopharm Ulm. Bayreuth managed to win fourth quarter 20-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The former international Karim Jallow (198-1997, agency: LUMANI 10.7) fired 20 points for the winners. American swingman Brandon Paul (193-1991, college: Illinois, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in 15 points. Lithuanian Ignas Sargiunas (196-1999, college: Colorado St.) produced 16 points and 6 rebounds and Canadian Jackson Rowe (201-1997, college: CS Fullerton) added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for ratiopharm Ulm. They moved-up to ninth place. Bayreuth lost their sixth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 14 games lost. ratiopharm Ulm will meet at home MLP Academics Heidelberg (#14) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Bayreuth will play against Hamburg Towers (#15) and hope to secure a win.
