Regular Season Round 18: Mamak - Yalovaspor 84-78

There was a small surprise in Ankara where ninth ranked Mamak (9-9) beat 7th ranked Yalovaspor (10-8) 84-78 on Sunday. Mamak made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American Carlton Bragg Jr (208-1995, college: N.Mexico) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). The other American import point guard Myles Mack (178-1993, college: Rutgers) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 assists. Four Mamak players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American Lamont Jones (183-1990, college: Iona) who recorded 17 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and point guard Kadir Bayram (185-1996) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Mamak have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Balikesir. Newly promoted Yalovaspor keeps the seventh position with eight games lost. Mamak's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Ankara to the arena OGM Orman.
