Not a big story in a game when 14th ranked Gemlik (4-14) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Balikesir (9-9) 85-74 on Sunday. Strangely Gemlik outrebounded Balikesir 40-25 including 28 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Berke Aygunduz (196-1998) who scored 24 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. American guard Kahlil Dukes (183-1995, college: Niagara) chipped in 21 points and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Devante Foster (206-1998, college: Arkansas Tech, agency: One Motive Sports) who recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and Batin Tuna (197-2003) added 11 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Four Balikesir and five Gemlik players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Balikesir maintains eighth position with 9-9 record, which they share with Mamak. Loser Gemlik keeps the fourteenth place with 14 games lost. They share the position with Bornova. Balikesir will meet Kocaeli (#13) in the next round where they are favorite. Gemlik will play against Sigortam.net and hope to secure a win.
