ProA top team - Rasta Vechta (19-2) had no problems winning another game on Wednesday. This time they crushed tenth ranked Uni Baskets (10-11) 89-67. Rasta Vechta made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Rasta Vechta outrebounded Uni Baskets 33-20 including a 24-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Rasta Vechta especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was Joschka Ferner (202-1996) who scored 20 points. American guard Andrew Jones (191-1997, college: Texas) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. Four Rasta Vechta players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Marten Linssen (203-1998, college: St.Louis) who recorded 19 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and American point guard George Brock (183-1995, college: SUNO) added 14 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Rasta Vechta have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 19-2 record. Loser Uni Baskets dropped to the ninth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Trier and Kirchheim. Rasta Vechta will meet league's second-placed Tigers in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Uni Baskets will play against Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (#12) and hope to secure a win.
