There was a surprise result when thirteenth ranked Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (9-12) defeated at home higher ranked Kirchheim Knights (10-11) 87-75 on Wednesday. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Kirchheim Knights' players. The best player for the winners was center Robert Oehle (209-1988) who scored 17 points and 9 rebounds. Slovakian point guard Simon Krajcovic (188-1994, college: LMU) chipped in 7 points and 10 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Michael Flowers (185-1999, college: WSU) who recorded 27 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import point guard Richard Williams Jr (178-1987, college: SDSU) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Kirchheim Knights' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven moved-up to twelfth place. Loser Kirchheim Knights keep the ninth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Trier and Paderborn. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven will meet higher ranked Uni Baskets (#11) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kirchheim Knights will play against Muenster and hope to secure a win.
