Regular Season Round 19: Rilski - Spartak Pleven 87-68

An interesting game for Rilski (18-1) which hosted in Samokov 4th placed Spartak Pleven (10-9). First ranked Rilski had an easy win 87-68. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Spartak Pleven. They outrebounded Spartak Pleven 40-27 including 30 on the defensive glass. Rilski looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Demajeo Wiggins (208-1997, college: BGSU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Evan Battey (203-1998, college: Colorado) contributed with 11 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Rilski players scored in double figures. American point guard Samajae Haynes-Jones (185-1996, college: Wichita St.) answered with 20 points and the former international swingman Nikolay Stoyanov (194-1994) added 14 points in the effort for Spartak Pleven. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Rilski maintains first place with 18-1 record. Spartak Pleven at the other side dropped to the fifth position with nine games lost. Rilski are again looking forward to face Spartak Pleven (#5) at home in the next round. Spartak Pleven will have a break next round.
