There was a minor upset when Constanta was defeated at home by Pitesti 90-84 on Thursday. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 46-38 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. American forward Josh Cunningham (203-1996, college: Dayton) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Serbian center Nikola Jevtovic (209-1989) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Five Pitesti players scored in double figures. Pitesti's coach Milan Mitrovic used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Lithuanian center Egidijus Mockevicius (208-1992, college: Evansville) responded with 18 points and 9 rebounds and Lithuanian Vytenis Cizauskas (187-1992) scored 18 points and 6 assists. Pitesti will meet at home Dinamo B. in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Constanta will play against Rapid in Bucuresti and hope to secure a win.
