Regular Season Round 21: Bakken - Amager 89-70
Date: February 11, 2023
Leader Bakken delivered the fifteenth victory on Saturday night. This time they crushed 10th ranked Amager (3-16) 89-70 in Aarhus. Bakken forced 23 Amager turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Bakken made 7 blocks. American forward Elijah Childs (202-1999, college: Bradley) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and the former international forward Gustav Knudsen (204-2003) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds. Four Bakken players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Jordan Johnson (198-1998, college: Concordia, WI) with 15 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import guard Mitch Pelissier (190-1997, college: Concordia, IL) scored 16 points and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for Bakken. Despite that victory Bakken went down to second position due to points difference, which they share with Naestved. Amager lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the tenth place with 16 games lost. Bakken will meet at home Copenhagen (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Amager will play against Naestved and hope to secure a win.
