Regular Season Round 15: VK-Kamane - Alytaus 52-100

Very expected game when 12th ranked VK-Kamane (1-14) was smashed by second ranked Alytaus (13-2) in Vilnius 100-52 on Saturday. Alytaus dominated down low during the game scoring 80 of its points in the paint compared to VK-Kamane's 24. Alytaus forced 31 VK-Kamane turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 35 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by VK-Kamane's players. It was an exceptional evening for the former international point guard Milda Sauliute (175-1981) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 5 rebounds, 11 assists and 4 steals. Forward Justina Leskauskaite (178-2002) accounted for 20 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Five Alytaus players scored in double figures. Point guard Olga Fomina (164-1989) came up with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds and forward Viktorija Matuleviciute (180-2000) added 15 points and 14 rebounds respectively for VK-Kamane in the defeat. Alytaus keeps a position of league leader. VK-Kamane lost their seventh game in a row. They keep the twelfth place with 14 games lost. Alytaus will meet at home Kauno-LSMU (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. VK-Kamane's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Vilnius to the arena Kibirkstis-VKM.
