Very expected game when 8th ranked RheinStars (8-9) were crushed on the road by third ranked Wolmirstedt (12-6) 90-71 on Saturday. Wolmirstedt outrebounded RheinStars 55-36 including a 39-28 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by RheinStars' players. American Jordan Talbert (198-1991, college: MSSU) fired a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Center Bill Borekambi (199-1992, college: Sequoias CC) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Wolmirstedt players scored in double figures. Canadian point guard Ali Sow (185-1998, college: Laurier) produced 18 points and point guard Rupert Hennen (184-1997) added 12 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Wolmirstedt. They maintain third place with 12-6 record having five points less than leader Bernau. RheinStars lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the sixth position with nine games lost. They share it with Ehingen and Speyer. Wolmirstedt will meet Kangaroos (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. RheinStars will play against the league's leader SSV Lok Bernau and hope to secure a win.
