Regular Season Round 19: Ehingen - Hanau 80-90

There was no surprise in Allmendingen where 6th ranked Ehingen/Urspringschule (8-9) was defeated by first ranked White Wings (17-1) 90-80 on Saturday. White Wings forced 20 Ehingen/Urspringschule turnovers and outrebounded them 44-29 including a 35-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. White Wings looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Philipp Walz (203-2001) fired a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Sebastian Brach (190-2002) chipped in 17 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists. Naturalized Czech point guard Daniel Zacek (182-2001) produced 25 points and 7 assists and center Vincent Neugebauer (210-2002) added 13 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five White Wings and four Ehingen/Urspringschule players scored in double figures. Ehingen/Urspringschule's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. White Wings maintains first place with 17-1 record, which they share with Koblenz. Loser Ehingen/Urspringschule keeps the sixth position with nine games lost. They share it with Speyer and Koeln. White Wings will meet at home league's second-placed Koblenz in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Ehingen/Urspringschule will play against Bayern (#13) in Muenchen and hope to secure a win and be promoted back to the ProA just one year after relegation.
