There was no surprise in Dresden where 13th ranked Science City Jena (8-14) was defeated by sixth ranked Titans (13-9) 81-70 on Saturday. Guard Daniel Kirchner (187-1997) scored 15 points and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Sebastian Heck (201-1995) chipped in 13 points and 4 steals during the contest. At the losing side American Brandon Thomas (198-1984, college: UMass, agency: Interperformances) responded with 14 points and 8 rebounds and center Bjoern Rohwer (212-1995) scored 10 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Titans moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Giessen. Loser Science City Jena dropped to the fifteenth position with 14 games lost. Titans will meet Lions (#7) in the next round. Science City Jena will play against the league's second-placed Tigers (#2) and hope to secure a win.
