There was a surprise result in Weissenfels where twelfth ranked MBC (8-10) won against higher ranked s Oliver Baskets (10-10) 98-83 on Sunday. MBC shot 64.8 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 56.0 percentage. MBC looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by s Oliver Baskets' players. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Kris Clyburn (198-1996, college: UNLV) who helped to win the game recording 25 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and Martin Breunig (203-1992, college: Montana) who added 14 points and 4 assists during the contest. Five MBC players scored in double figures. American point guard Stanley Whittaker (183-1994, college: Keiser) responded with 22 points and 4 assists and his fellow American import point guard Cameron Hunt (192-1997, college: Southwestern, KS) scored 16 points and 5 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. MBC moved-up to eleventh place. Loser s Oliver Baskets dropped to the ninth position with ten games lost. MBC will meet league's second-placed Telekom Baskets in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. s Oliver Baskets will play against MLP Academics Heidelberg (#15) and hope to secure a win.
