Brasov defeated Gheorgheni at home 79-71. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 79-71. Brasov outrebounded Gheorgheni 48-27 including a 20-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. Forward Sergiu Souca (200-1986) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 31 rebounds. Alexandru Hodorac (-2004) contributed with 21 points for the winners. Guard Matyas Lokody (190-1987) replied with 28 points and 7 rebounds and Tamas Bodo added 18 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Gheorgheni. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gheorgheni will play next round against Oradea 2 trying to get back on the winning streak. Brasov will try to continue on its current victory against Ploiesti CSU on the road.
