Regular Season Round 18: Rapid - Arad 83-72

The most important game in the last round took place in Bucuresti between second ranked Arad (13-3) and fifth ranked Rapid (10-5) on Wednesday night. Arad was defeated by Rapid on the road 83-72. The game was mostly controlled by Rapid. Arad managed to win second period 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Arad to just 7 points in first quarter. American guard Adrienne Motley (175-1995, college: Miami, FL) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international Gabriela Irimia (183-1990) chipped in 15 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was American forward Trinity Baptiste (183-1998, college: Arizona) with 20 points and 8 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) and her fellow American import power forward Nikki Greene (193-1990, college: Penn St.) scored 6 points and 15 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Rapid moved-up to fourth place. Arad at the other side keeps the second position with three games lost. Rapid are looking forward to face Brasov (#5) on the road in the next round. Arad will play against Alexandria and is hoping to win this game.
