There was a surprise result when thirteenth ranked SparkassenStars (10-13) crushed higher ranked Lions (12-11) in Bochum 114-81 on Wednesday. SparkassenStars made 24-of-26 free shots (92.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Lions turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 58.3 percentage. SparkassenStars looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Jalen Bradley (185-1993, college: ORU) who led the winners and scored 24 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). His fellow American import guard Conley Garrison (185-1999, college: Furman, agency: GoEmpire Group) accounted for 20 points and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side. SparkassenStars' coach Felix Banobre felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Center Maurice Pluskota (209-1992, agency: Octagon Europe) came up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and American point guard Lovell Cabbil (188-1997, college: Liberty) added 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Lions in the defeat. Four SparkassenStars and five Lions players scored in double figures. SparkassenStars have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain thirteenth place with 10-13 record. Lions at the other side keep the seventh position with 11 games lost. SparkassenStars will meet at home higher ranked Titans (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Lions will play against Gladiators in Trier and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
